East Verde River Enhancement Design

Arizona Game and Fish and the Payson Flycasters Chapter of Trout Unlimited wished to ensure appropriate habitat is available to support trout in the East Verde River at popular day use areas. The objective of this project for NCDE was to provide designs that improves stream function, stability and habitat quality at selected day use sites. The design used rocks and logs to create habitat using cross vane weirs, vane arms, and more to improve pool habitat and cover for fish while improving geomorphic function.
