Arizona Game and Fish Department hired NCDE to perform a geomorphic assessment of Canyon Creek, develop a plan that prioritized areas with the greatest potential for improvement and design structures for those areas. Structures were designed to improve stream channel function while simultaneously improving fish habitat. Structures included cross vane weirs, bank habitat structures, vanes, bank sloping, and willow planting among others. These structures were created using natural materials on site to improve the creek while leaving minimal impact on the land.
